xreas how to tell

hey team
a buddy of mine was wondering how she can tell if she has xreas on her 03 sport 4runner.....i tought as it is a sport like mine it would?
however it has SR5 on the side.....isnt that just the air bag system?
i thought i remember that some one told me if it has sr5 then i does not have xreas?

If it is a Sport Edition, it will say "Sport Edition" on the side of it, not "SR5". I don't think Xreas was an option on the SR5 model, it is standard on the S/E.

it also came with the hood scoop.....but it also has the sr5 on the side

if i can remember the sport edition emblem's came out shortly after the relese of the 03 after that they began to put them on the side.....it looks a bit better there

You should be able to see a hydraulic line coming from the shocks and connecting to its diaganol opposite.

Are the side mirrors black or do they match the body color? The SE had color matched side mirrors while the SR5 always had the flat black mirrors. Even if the SR5 is black, the mirrors are not the same glossy color as the body.

Post up a picture and we may be able to help further.

the mirrors are the same color as the body i will take a look for the line from the shocks....as soon as i can get a camera i will for sure

I did not know this about the emblems....Is this a Canada thing??
I would say if it has the hood scoop than it is a S/E, but like sharp4runr said, you can see the lines running out of the shocks and down the side of the frame that connect the Xreas.

iForce, my 2003 brochure says that Xreas was standard on S/E models. I am not disagreeing with you but what makes one not have it?

I'll have to disagree with you on the point that not all SE come with the XREAS. All the brochures and literature I've seen says XREAS comes standard on the 4th Gen Sport Edition. Now if you're talking about the 3rd Gen SE, well that is a different matter.

Don't assume just because it has a hood scoop that it is an SE. I think KOZ swapped the SE hood on his Limited.

Unless you Canucks are doing it all wrong in the great white north

i wil get a camera very soon to take some pics
as far as shocks go
there are some lins comming out then turn into the middel of truck frame
the hood scoop came with truck from factory was not swaped
and it is a sport ed for sure
looks like the lines out of the shocks are the best wat to tell
it is a 03 4th gen

Near the bottom, Luxury posted pics of a X-REAS equipped 4R and a non X-REAS one. Hope this helps.

so a 03 4runner SR5 trim SPORT and Xreas

Oh.. i'm definitely sure that all sport + limited came with XREAS here in Canada. We don't have an option of NOT getting it, its a standard feature. I was referring to the states because as you know.. XREAS is an option there.. and not a standard feature.

XREAS is standard on the SE in the US. You are probably thinking that it is optional, because in the US it is optional on the Limiteds. From what I understand from your previous posts, all Limiteds in CA are with XREAS.

Yes... all limiteds comes standard with XREAS, and Air Bag Suspension for V8s.
