XREAS Suspension Replacement

Greetings all. This is my first post to the forum. I have a 2004 Sport Edition that has leaking shocks. Because of the XREAS suspension system, the dealership tells me I have to replace everything to a tune of $2,700.

I found some threads that advise going to Bilsteins and scrapping the XREAS. I'm all for that but the dealership won't do the work. Can someone recommend a shop in the Houston, TX area to do the work?

if you have a socket set and a jack to lift the vehicle you will be able to do the work yourself it took me about 4 hours to replace front shocks and springs and remove the xreas stuff. i went to bilsteins 5100 and fj springs. best thing i ever did. its pretty easy if you can read instructions and turn a socket. you can rent a spring compressioner, for lack of a correct term, from autozone for free! good luck

No... XREAS is a completely mechanical system. The reports of people getting dash lights after removing XREAS and installing replacement shocks/coils are usually the result of a broken ABS wire.

You want to buy my xreas system? I'll be removing it soon and could sell you the complete system. My rig is completely stock (not abused). 2007 w/ 62k miles. PM me if you'd like to work something out.

removing the total system without bending the pipes is not so easy...


So I would recommend a ship, install, test and pay process...not only that shipping will be a nightmare, impossible. New tubing needed or a face to face meeting for delivery,,,

At least that is my take on things from having been under my rig and pulled XREAS off.

Thanks for the offer but I've decided to get a new XREAS from the dealer. I'm selling the car to a friend and feel like even though this route is the most expensive, replacing it with a new stock system gives me the most peace of mind.
