Xtreme HIDs 6 months in

A quick comment and a quick question:

I have had the Phillips-bulb 4300 Xtreme HID kit in my 4Runner since April, doing a moderate amount of night driving since installation. I noticed on my way to work at 3am the other day how much the output has changed since new. The light is a terrific light-blue hue and has developed a warmth that is difficult to describe. I spoke to Steve @ X.D. not long after I bought the kit about how pleased I was with the install/value/quality/output, and of the output he said, "just wait until they break in." Now I know what he meant...

My question is regarding the light pattern after the install. The upper cutoff is razor sharp and the coverage to the right & left is uniform, but I have a couple of, say, hot spots that fall immediately in front of the vehicle. They aren't anything more than a distraction but I am hoping someone here has had a similar experience and been able to remedy it.

I've also noticed a "hot spot" where the two headlight beams meet, but I just assumed it was normal.

I've only had mine for a couple of weeks or so, but I'm really liking the light output.

Did you mod the squirrel finder? That made it like a damn straight razor all the way across, even 6 months after. Im a few months into my 2nd kit and its the same so far.

Yeah, I didn't really know what I was doing with them though, just kinda followed the instruction in various threads and hoped they would come out okay.

I considered this, but don't the squirrel finders create glare upwards? Also, after the install I went and found a big dark wall, lit 'em up, and looked for those "windows" cast by the finders and didn't see anything but a straight line of light.
