yak "warrior" accessories and regular x-bar compatibility

As it turns out, the accessories from Yakima for their "Warrior" line of baskets (things like a shovel mount, lights, etc) are NOT compatible with the regular yakima cross bars.

Can anyone tell me why?

Here is the reply from Yakima:
"Thank you for contacting Yakima Customer Support.

Unfortunately, the Warrior basket accessories, like the Light Mounting Brackets, Axe/Shovel Bracket, Spare Tire Carrier and the Hi-Lift Jack Carrier only attach to the Warrior baskets.

I think the jack and shovel both mount on the sides of the basket and the bar size is different than the standard cross-bar size. I think the Yakima cross-bar is the same size as the main bars on the basket. There should be no reason why you could not use the lights on the standard cross bars (Yak).
This is just from my memory because I don't have a basket.
