Yakima Megawarrior Review

I got a really good deal on a Yakima Megawarrior on ebay back in January. For Spring Break this year, I was finally able to test it out and see how it held up. I ended up putting 5 fold out chairs, and 3 coolers on the rack and driving around 300 miles (from Tuscaloosa to Destin.) My '06 Sport Edition handled the added weight very well and I was extremely impressed with the how the megawarrior held up. My gas mileage did decrease slightly, but not more than 1-2 mpg, which I found quite surprising. Here are some of the picks:

Looks good. How much noise does it make unloaded and driving down the interstate at around ~75mph. Can you tell it's up there?

Looks great. I wish I would have gotten a Mega Warrior instead of a Load Warrior.


And YES to answer the question, you can definitely hear it up on the roof when its windy or when you are doing over 70 on the interstate. And you can REALLY hear it when its windy on the interstate

Yes, i agree. There is definitely some road noise at high speeds. I do not have a sunroof though, so the noise is minimal for my 4runner, even on the interstate. If I have music or something in the background, I do not even notice it.

on a side note, I have a yakima megawarrior extension that is not being used if anyone wants it. It came with my megawarrior and is in good condition, I just dont care for the look of it on my 4runner. Send me a message or something if you are interested...
