Hello, I'm new here having just bought a 2000 SR5 last month. I used to have an Explorer and couldn't be happier with my 4Runner so far. Except, of course, the price. Pretty spendy for a 2000 but after my Explorer, well, lets just say I learned my lesson.
I just thought I'd let you all know my Yakima/Ford rack on my Explorer that I bought from the Ford dealer for $89 also fits on my 4Runner. This was for the towers and cross bars. Being the sporting goods stores wanted over $200 for esentially the same thing, I thought it was worth mentioning here. The rack fits right into the 4Runner channels no problem. Of course, the towers to have the Ford oval on them (made by Yakima), but it is just raised plastic so it doesn't stick out or anything

Yeah, it shocked me too that a dealer product was actually cheaper. I bought it about 3 years ago so I don't know if Ford still offers them or if anything has changed, but if you're looking it's worth look.
