Its been more or less confirmed that it is in development for a while. I just hope they don't pull another move like they did on the new Sequoia give it an independent rear suspension. Keep it like the new Land Cruiser, solid axle baby!
I too would like a diesel and manual, but I think a manual is not going to be an option here in the US ever again on the 4Runner, and I'll give it a 50/50 that some time after the new model comes out (maybe a few model years), we'll have a diesel. Hopefully an Isuzu diesel
If the diesel is never an option, I would buy it with a spark engine, but I would not buy it if it had independent rear suspension. That is my one thing that I will stay old fashioned with. I am buying a 4Runner because it is a truck, and trucks have at least one real axle. They can throw any modern suspension components on it they want, just keep it solid.
