Yellow fog light bulb

hi, i searched but came up with very limited posts. so, sorry if this has been discussed before.

i am trying to find some source which i can purchase a pair of nice really yellow 9006 fog light bulb replacement for my current fog. i already replaced the stock white one to a "Nokya" yellow bulbs, but still, it didn't work out too great in these weeks since it started getting foggy.

does anyone know which brand or where i can get some really yellow 9006 bulbs which allows me see better in the fog? i am not planning to go with HID fog since we don't use it quite often, also i think yellow HID fog is kind of over kill. i just need something which is true golden yellow and won't cost me too much. thanks for any input!

Hmmm.... the only yellow fog light i know of is the one made by TRD for the last gen Celicas.

since u did a s2k retro, why not put 2000k yellow hids from www.retro-solutions.com ? itll go great, i did put up some pics , but heres my output.

yea, i live in the valley, sacramento. it's been so foggy at night pass week. and mainly i want my wife have a safety drive back home after work (she works swing shift at State, so get off work 10:30pm).
i am not too sure if i want HID fog, since i'll get my 4R muddy once awhile, not sure if any mud/water will damage it.

anyone tried "Hoens endurance yellow"??

i read some feedback from M3, RX-8, GTI forums and seems they are pretty nice yellow fog.

laminx is a no no, if u use it, that film will burn to the lens overtime.

also i get off at 4am here, i start at 5pm and end at 4am with an hour and a half to a 2 and a half hour lunch sometime. couple days ago it was foggy as u cant even see infront of you.

last time we went off road, the mud covered up the whole fog light area.

did water leak into the housin itself? since the base of bulb should have a tight seal with the hole i dont think it will get into the inside.

unfortunately, it did a little bit, not sure from where, but after we pressure washed our truck, my fog had moisture in, it almost covered the whole lens.....

One time, after replacing my fogs with aftermarket fogs they completely filled with water. I later realized I had probably put the bulb in slightly out of place, allowing my foglight to totally flood. Since they I have made sure it was in well and no water has gotten in. You shouldn't have to worry.

I personally wouldn't go for HID's in my fogs, just stick to a good halogen. PIAA makes some good ones, I think they are called Plasma Ion HB. I used to have cheap Luminics pure yellow bulbs in mine, but would advise against that since another member on 120 had those and they melted his wiring harness. After hearing that, I took mine right out.

thanks for the heads up!!! yea i probably won't go for HID in fog, still debating PIAA or the Hoen like i mentioned above. both seem very reputation company, just a matter i want something really yellow that will work in some bad weather....

I don't know anything about the Hoen, but if you want REALLY yellow, don't go for the PIAA's. I liked the Lumanics b/c they, unlike the PIAA's, are REALLY yellow. The PIAA's look more or less yellow depending on your angle.

From some angles it looks way less yellow though (this is from a different cam, but you can still see how much less yellow they look)

just got my "Hoen" today, since i don't have the 4R with me at the moment, i plugged it into my TL and just tried it out. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

soooooo yellow and that should meet my need!!!! i'll try to take some pictures tonight after installed them into the 4R.

i'll take some pictures later and we'll see. it's not getting dark in another 1.5 hours so i don't really know how yellow are they.

i may take a few shots in my TL in a bit so have an idea of how they will look like in my 4R.

The PIAA's that I saw were in the $60-$75 range per pair. I've been using Hella Optilux (55W, 2500K) in my Mustang fogs and just installed a pair in my '08 4Runner (9006/HB4) today, matter-of-fact. You can find them on ebay for about $25 a pair with shipping.
