Yellow Fogs

Hey all, I'm looking to get some pretty bright yellow fog lights going. I've seen some nice set ups on here. My main question, can I just get yellow bulbs, and if so, does anybody know the bulb size? Or do I need to upgrade anything to get nice, bright ones? Thanks guys!

Im not sure if your looking to buy a whole new fog light set or what. A cheap way to get a yellow fog light is to use Lamin-x light films. They work great and look great too. I currently use a medium tint on mine. And by the way they are only $18!!!

I put in Putco Jet Yellow fogs and it looks nice. I will say it is not super bright but does the job. If i did again, i would probably buy them in 9005 and adjust the bases to fit the 9006 pieces.

That'a what I did. But I bought the role. $7 from ebay. However, I can see fine cracking from the heat. I will have to reapply every year.

get some hella optilux xy 9006 or nokya yellow 9006, if you decide on hid just get 3000k 9006.

I admit, mine is for cosmetic. Love the look of it. And the yellow bulbs don't give the same look when they're off. As far as light output, I'm about to put a lightbar hidden in the grill.

I just ordered two HID kits for my 07.

3000k for Fogs and 5000k for Low Beam.

The 5000k/3000k combo is the shit. Got to test the true capability of the 3000k fogs last night in bad weather. Wow.

I like the osram 66240 CBI at 50w ballast, really white and no hint of yellow, i think its close to 4700k atleast. 35w setup will be the normal 5000k. In the aftermarket world, some brands have 2 different color at the same kelvin rating, that why i suggest you guys to see a real oem setup of 5000k and compare yours to theirs. But no doubt i got alot of light with 3000k fogs on with my retro. I just leave them off as too much light upfront will decrease your distance viewing. Plus if you have some 4100k-4300kbulb (oem philips/osram) warmer white color will have the most light on the road. 3000k with the warm white is even more light with my setup, i tried both, i use the regular bulbs as spares.

Thread jacking my own thread here, but I'm going with the 5000K headlight and 3000K fog light combo. What size bulbs do our headlights have? Also, 35 or 55 watt? I'm totally new to HIDs. The 5000/3000 numbers indicate color, is that correct?

I don't remember the bulb size right now, but 35 watt is I and most others use. The 5000k and 3000k do represent the color of the light from each bulb. I had originally installed 5000k lows and 3000k fogs... I loved the fogs, but was disappointed in the lows. I swapped the lows to 4500k bulbs and loved the results! So much more visibility, crisp cut-off, etc. The color goes from yellow at 3000k to just about pure white at 4300k and then gets more blue/more purple as the number goes up. 5000k would be white with blue-ish tint and by 8000k, things are getting pretty purple. The higher the number, the less usable light you have... some people like them, but to my eyes anyway, they get pretty useless.

i also would like to get some fellow fog bulbs. I think I'll go with the piaa crystal ion bulbs. I'd just like to know what size and wattage to get, i don't want to be burning wires. on another note if anyone has info on HID low beams i think id like to get those, as far as fitment and wattage, and any thing else i should know(pros & cons). my stock lights just don't seem bright enough.
