One thing that i have noticed is that when the wheel is turned to a lock position (either left or right), making a slow turn it makes a banging noise on the drivers side.

Any ideas.

And keep in mind she is an 04 v6 (stop laughing bobby) with 31k on the odo.

Any ideas?

I think that it is not an uncommon problem.. Here is a thread with '04's having the same noise...

Mine did, found it was the same - rubbing on the skid at full lock...

Thanks bro, but it isn't a rubbing sound it is like a banging sound. Not continuously, but one bang then it is over with. Still looking through the threads to see.

Hey man! Long time man. That is not an issue you have having. There is a metal plate (part of the steering knuckle), some may call it a bump stop, but it is there too stop the steering wheel from turning too much. Just place a dab of the thickest grease you can get your hands on and grease the plate. I use grease from my grease gun

Long time now speak Drew!!! How is everything going? That is a normal noise you are hearing. As for the Dunlops, I only had 18K on mine when I had to switch them.

Hey Drew...ironically enough...I swapped out my Dunlops at 31K miles for Nitto Terra Grapplers. Love them...

Yea mine are still on, but she's a lease. Coming up on the debating phase of my lease. Do i wait to buy the tires if i keep the rig, or do i be real easy on the old ones and try to make them last until the end of the lease. Decisions Decisions

My 03 does this as well and the only other time I had seen this problem was when I was in highschool a friend of mine had a little import car on cut springs and when he cut the wheel all the way it did the same thing but it never caused any damage as far as I know so I figured it had something to do with the spring being as such a taught angle and haven't though much about it since it's only on seriously tight turns which in a SUV try not to do too often.
