Yet another lift question. pp springs v ome?

New to the forum... I'd like to thank anyone in advance, who takes the time to answer the following question:

I recently sold my 97 runner with pp 1inch lift springs, and a few other goodies... Miss her already. The springs probably gave me an actual 2" of lift and had an almost sports car ride compared to stock. As other members have discovered, the pp springs are no longer made. I'd like to find something similar in performance and stance for my newly purchased 99 sport. So my question is... are old man emu set ups (881's front 890's rear) similar in performance and lift to the old performance product spring? Not looking for anything over 2.5-3in of lift.

Anyone having issues running this lift?
Anyone have pics of this lift?

I've been getting into wheeling, but i dont do it often... and have no intentions for adding a winch, or a weighty bumper

p.s. The only thing I can offer in return is a little knowledge of 3rd gens coming from owning mine for 13years...

The 881s (without top spacers) and 906s would be a close match to the PP springs in height and ride (~2"). If you add the top spacers and go with 890s, you'll get more like 3" but the ride will be stiffer. Either of these OME options sit pretty darn level.

Thanks alot!.. excuse my ignorance, but what are the 906's?? I've heard a bunch of cv issues being thrown around... I didnt have any with the pp springs.. something I need to worry about?

906's are rear OME coils, just a bit softer and shorter than the 890's.

Here's mine with the 890's and the Toytec 3" spacer..

The tires are 285's (33")....

Thanks... like the pic, sick looking runner. Miss my 97 already, and I'm trying to make the 99 drive like it. 97 was a 5speed kand n intake, borla muffler... 99 is auto, stock, but couldn't pass up the deal. Looking for about a 2in lift, planning on running 31" bfg at's to keep milage similar. so the lift, another borla, and a savage front bumper is all I'm planning so far

I thought the 99's were supposed to sit higher than other years... But after measuring my 97 with the performance product springs vs the 99, I found that the 97 sat perfectly level, and was 2in taller in front, and 1in in the rear. I'm just trying to replicate that as close as possible... also had that set up for about 8years with little to no issues

yeah, it is the sport.. or highlander though.. not sure which one... has sport hood sr5, but no locker

No, the 890s sit level with 881s + top out spacer. 890s w/ 881s and no spacer would give you a .5-1" rake, but that would sit level if you threw 200 lbs. or so in the back.

Awesome, thanks! So to recap... (if I've got this correct) the 881's will sit level with the 906's, and the 881's with spacer will be level with the 890's?? Thanks again to all who replied.
