Been reading a bunch on the forum about tires, and decided since I just purchased a set I would share the pictures. I mean, who doesn't like pictures right?

Just got them put on last week at Discount Tire. Paid $580 for the set fully installed! Discount Tire has a great warranty, and will MATCH ONLINE PRICES (hence my good deal). Oh yeah, since I did not want to headache of worrying about them rubbing, I decided to stay with 265/70/16's. Have yet to put them to the test in the Colorado snow or off-road, but once I do I will let everyone know my overall satisfaction.

I had those the Yoko ATs on my 94 4Runner. I loved them. They were a great all around tire. I also have another buddy that has them on his Landcruiser and he loves them too. I think he got his after seeing how mine performed After you get about 20,000 miles or so on 'em post on up. I'm sure others would like to hear your opinion on them as well. You're going to dig them. They are perfect for Colorado.

Time to test those bad boys out at Seven Mile Creek, Moody Hill, Storm Mountain, Pole Hill or somethin' They are begging for some dirt and rock!

Good Choice.

I ran Geolander AT-S tires on my Tacoma from December of '07 until I sold it in June of this year. Once my BFG AT KO's wear out on the 4runner, I'll put another set on. IIRC I also paid about $580 for mine a couple of years ago.

They did great in the snow and also did great on the dirt and rocks.

I went with a slightly taller and narrower tire, 235/85/16. When it's time for me to swap my BFGs out, I'll do the same. That's a good tire size for CO.

What's the life expectancy on the Yokos?

They have a 40k warranty, but I've read several stories on various forums where people continually get 50k+ out of them. I'll let you know my experience in a few years...

On my old 4runner I had about 30,xxx miles on them and the only signs of actual wear that they showed were the chunks of rubber missing out of them. :jump: Then again I put them though there pass in the Arizona.

The current set I have now I have about 20,xxx miles and they show very little signs of wear if at all. I've had them though sand, snow, rock and rain without too much problems.

i have them on my runner they are great. im hitting 60k on them and still thread left but dont use armorall cause it will
cause cracks in the sidewall.

Looks good. I use Armor All Original Shine, doesn't make tires look super blingy and doesn't cause them to dry rot either.

Whoa that's one of the products I stay away from. It's always made plastic and rubber feel greasy and I've heard that if used for a long time will ruin the plastic or rubber. I've always been disappointed by Armor All products and then I heard of all the horror stories which led me to get rid of it.

+1 , that stuff actually does more harm than good. If you put it on your dash and its out in the hot sun, its like putting sun tan oil on your body- it amplifies the effects and will crack and dry out faster than not using anything at all

In my experience awesome, never had a problem in fact i recommend them.
they last longer than there warrenty states as well.

I agree. Powder, packed, and rain I thought they did well. Only complaint (if you can call it that) I had about them is that they didn't look as cool as the mudders do . Performance, wear, and price are great.

I bought the tires with the impression I would be getting more than the measly 40k warranty. The larger size, 265/75/16 actually came with a 50k warranty, which neither I nor the Discount Tire salesman could explain. Anyone have any decent explanation?

The only thing I apply it on is my tires and they seem to still be doing fine after 2 years of application, but I'm sure with different conditions and usage that the stuff will provide varying effects for different people.

all i can figure is a larger diam. tires gets less wear in the same spot as the
larger surface area mostly spreads the wear out more uniformly.

just a guess i really have no idea. lol

Heavy truck + worn tires + snow is never a good equation. There are better cars in the snow, but a properly equipped 4R should instill more than enough courage for the average driver

lol yeah my eyes got pretty big a few times coming down from baker, lol

still putting my lift together and getting cash for new tires! hopefully that'll sort it out ! =-)

Got a chance to run these tires in some bad weather yesterday. Took a trip from Fort Collins up to Copper to go skiing. Although it was on-road the entire time, there was snow/rain/slush for a good portion of the trip. Seemed to handle everything incredibly well...

so far so good!
