York On Board Air System

Is anyone running a York on their 3rd Gens? What model did you use? Can you post pictures as well if you have done it. Curious on how people mounted it.

Would the stock A/C comp be able to run air tools and fill tires? Does it put a load on the Comp where it could cause it to fail?

I figure the york would put out more air, but I have no idea. I'm new to all this, and that's why I'm asking.

Someone can correct me, but I believe York is a belt driven compressor or modified a/c compressor that runs off the engine and ARB is an electric compressor that you can wire up anywhere in the rig that you have space for it. Sometimes its hard to mount a York without giving up AC
 
Then I would search the internetz. There's is sooooooooooooo many options out there. An arb system is their compressor pump. It's not part of the motor.

But since on the topic, what on board air system is going to be the best to run air tools if needed, or does it not really matter if you're running an air tank and the comp is filling the tank fast enough.

I knew its been done before, back when I had a 99, I thought/researched it, but never did it, heres a couple links for ya:

After looking, reading, researching I said screw it, Im going with a CO2, now Im running a ARB compressor with a small tank, works well, and never have to worry about running out of air lol
 
04rnr that's where I'm at right now, saying forget the York and going ARB. Have you tried running an impact or anything on it? What ARB did you go with? What size tank are you running?

Yes, I have ran a impact from it, but I only have a 2Gal tank, so it goes FAST, lol, I also upgraded the stock pressure switch on the ARB, I have a 120/90 (shuts off at 120PSI, and turns on at 90PSI) I cant remember the site I bought it from, and I have a 140 psi blow off valve.
I did call ARB and ask them if the new pressure switch will harm the compressor, they said no, it will be fine.
It will remove the lugs.
 
Amazon has most parts, like the pressure switch, or Napa which has a fine selection of brass fittings and air fittings you may need........
 
PNW fab doesn't make those brackets anymore, look into a Puma model PD-1006. You can separate the compressor form the tank if you want to go bigger.

I just did a quick search on that, bring Ive never heard of it, people are saying it will fill a 315/r16 from 18 to 42 psi = about 3.5 mins but Im not sure what altitude hes at, I know your elevation or alititude will make a difference.

Screw the pneumatic impact wrench. Get a cordless Lithium Ion impact wrench.

Works great, no cords and great power.
