You might want to check out your RCI LCA skid bolt

I had these skids on for a few, took them off to have an alignment done since changed to Camburg arms. I reinstalled them and first time off roadding with them since. I went to clean and lube my uni balls and found this mess.

Bolt hits the boot at full wheel drop, so if you have this setup, you might want to ckeck it out and find a shorter bolt.




Kinda pisses you off when you have a lift on original CVs for 80k and a simple bolt takes them out.

They're installed correctly. I noticed this issue when installing my a-arm skids and cut the extra length off the bolt.

I don't think so, 2" long and sit in line of the axle/boot. Hate to tear the boot in trying.

After thought, yes you can, pull the bottom bolts of the steering knuckle, pull the axle bolt off and remove axle out of the knuckle and swing the knuckle around to put in.

Shorter bolt sounds easier to me.

Just pissed I have to replace axles due to this. The other side has slight wear on the boot from hitting it, could use it for a spare, but, how long will the boot last before it rips open.

Yeah, I installed mine on the ground so it was obvious to me. Easy to miss otherwise. I just had a sway bar nut come off which tore my CV boot.

No for sure they were installed correctly, sorry if my post made it sound like something else. I was only wondering if they would fit in the other direction. As you alluded to though, hard to get that bolt into place without moving the spindle/axle out of he way.
