ok so i recently took a trip up north and it was about 800 miles round trip and took three days. went through mountains and long strait stretches, and when i got back home i have a problem starting up the 4runner. it cranks and cranks but it doesnt start unless you crank it for 2 or 3 30 sec intervles. then it starts up and runs great. before i left i did a full fluid change in my drive way, put new spark plugs/wires/cap and rotor. any idea on why its such a pain to start????

and i also noticed that when i got home from the trip my idle sits at about 1100rpm when it normally set at 900rpm before the trip. i dont know if that is a clue as to whats going on just thought i would throw it in there.

sounds like a TPS problem check and make sure it is adjusted correctly.

so i plugged the truck into a computer today and looked uder trouble shooter and hard start, it said somthing about a thermo switch needing replaced. any ideas on what that is and how are it is to replace it myself????

i looked it up. its called a thermo time switch. its like 100 bucks!!!!!! any idea where it is???

Are you talking about the CSI timer switch?

its on the front of the intake. the will be 2 plugs its on of them. if i remember right its the one on the drivers side

kinda... i know what to jiggle if the truck doesnt start haha after a few tugs and pushes it starts so it can go for a bit... a new one is like 200 bucks!!!

thermo time switch or CSI for EFI motor is on the front of the intake just bellow to the left of the Throttle Body there are two sensors. Depending on year one will be green and the other should be black, it is the one on the left.
