Dealer wants $5991. New valve cover gaskets, brake rotors, and timing belt would be put on it by them.
Can't sell it to me as is because of "liability". No rust.

Seems a little over priced to me. I paid 2200 for my 97 with roughly the same number of miles on it. It didn't have new tires though, and I had to do the timing belt myself.

Yes price is twice what is s/b for a deal (only way I buy em'). On the otherhand maintenance (at least oil changes) has been kept up with for a while, see attached. :cowboy:

213k, automatic, with those item's done? Considering it's a dealer, I'd think 5k-5500 was fair.

Gotta consider it would sell for 4-4500 private party around here in WA from when I researched mine. Dealer is also freshly paying for those services, plus profit margins and any other standard practice. If they are doing semi-extensive work for "liability" reasons, it seems like they are trying to sell you a decent truck to the best of their knowledge.

IMHO- Overpriced. Paid less that for my 2000 with almost 100k less miles on the clock. Different regions command different prices tho.....

I don't mind paying rich for a dealer vehicle.....especially a Toyota dealer. It is a fair price here. Also rust free. They did a lot of work on the vehicle apparently. And it sold today. So I guess it's pointless now

Man these cars don't last long at all at dealerships. Most I've seen get snatched up FAST!

That's overpriced even for the expensive California market I'm in. I paid $6300 for a 2000 SR5 4x4 with 111,000 miles.

Do yourself a favor and just take your time and find a good deal. There's search engines like Autotempest you can use to search multiple Craigslist areas at a time. There's also phone apps that will alert you when a listing comes up that fits your search criteria. I haven't used one myself, but I know they make those apps.

During my 2 month search for a 3rd Gen 4runner, I found most people were asking too much and the dealers were the worst.

Dealer retail on KBB was $6190 in this market. I would have paid every penny under 6k. Someone else bought it and it had only been there 4 days.
