Your Thoughts on this 95 4Runner

I've been looking on and off for a 4Runner the past few years. I have been limiting my search the the 99-01 models. I ran across this one (see links below) and would like to know your thoughts on it. Is the new engine a problem, price OK, anything else would be greatly appreciated?

If everything on that article is true, sounds great. Pick that sucker up. I've got the same year, though mine isn't as pretty but it's a good truck. It's not a fast truck though. If you're looking for something to slam your head into the seat off the line you're looking in the wrong place. I've heard mixed reviews about the auto trans in those as well... but all and all it will probably last you forever if you get it.

Exactly.^ I would go take a look asap, I love the front door speaker panels too!

The 3.0 has been beaten to death, it blows headgaskets. People make it seem like it is cheap Chinese engine. That's not true, its still made in Japan by Toyota, it might not be Toyotas best engine, but its still a decent reliable v6. Some people have gotten over 300k miles and never had a problem. I personally have had a 94 3.0 for a while and never had a problem with the engine other than being a tad slow.

I say jump on it. take it for a test drive, and look for rust on the frame very carefully.

Just found out the new engine is a re manufactured 3.0 v6. Manufactured and warranties by keystone/LKQ.

It almost sounds too great to be true. Definitely get a closer inspection of it. I've heard the same on the automatic transmission but leaning more to the bad side. If the thing is well maintained it should be good and last a very long time though if it's as good as the ad says
