These are known as “snowflake” wheels and a lot of guys run them.

I’m not sure if they will fit the bigger 231mm calipers if you plan on doing the tundra brake upgrade in the future — I could be wrong on this too, so don’t quote me.

Those rims came stock on my 2005 Tacoma TRD Off Road

interesting, i had never heard of them called snowflakes.
I had always heard the Isuzu Rodeo/Trooper rims called snowflakes

I run them on my 97. They fit over the tundra brakes I have installed, but the do rub the frame at full lock due to their back spacing.

Those are 'cokebottles' off an 01 maybe other years and yes 16".... IMO any Toyota/Lexus/LC wheel looks good on a Runner :cowboy:

I purchased the same wheels for my 2000 T4R LTD 4WD. I have tried to upload a photo of them on my rig but the photo will not upload!!!!!

I ran them for almost a year but they required spacers. It seems the spacers kept impacting the braking. I finally just re-finished my old wheels and put them back on.

Since you are asking, TBH I think they are the 2nd ugliest wheel ever put on a Tacoma. Most of the newer stuff is going to tuck the tire into your wheel more than stock anyway unless you run spacers. Without spacers you will have slightly less trackwidth. If you like them rock on.

Currently running those wheels on my '96 with very worn 265/75-16 Toyo MTs. They are like +30 offset so there is a lot of backspacing (>5"). Puts the tire real close to the upper control arm/ball joint. While I didn't see any signs of rubbing, it's super close, less than a 1/4". I have seen signs of real slight rubbing on the frame rails though.

Finalizing an earlier thread where you all gave me good ideas. I picked up a set of Tacoma "snowflakes" and went with Yokahoma Geolander AT tires, 265/75/16. Things looking MUCH better after dumping the 15" wheels. Gave the tire choices a lot of thought and settled on these as I do mostly highway driving and the price was not bad. Got it up to 75 mph and was steady as can be. 2000 4Runner, 4wd, SR5. No lift, no spacers and all is well.

I have the Yokahama Geolander H/T tires (yes, I bought passenger rated tires lol) and I agree. I've taken them offroad and they do great in dry conditions. They kinda suck in any sort of deep snow though, I already got stuck once and had to dig out. However they are great on wet roads and amazing for SUV tires dry. Great choice.

When I look at these wheels and concentrate on the "spokes" I hate them. When I look at these wheels and concentrate on the negative space or the "holes" they totally change and I like them. I seem to do this with lots of wheels. Anyone else?
