the blank hood is so ugly. I want the TRD hood even though the scoop is completely non functional. but its gonna be like $1000. a louvre would actually do something and I think theyre sexy. I know people would think this is a dumb idea. I just want someone to photoshop this piece from summit racing onto my blank hood.

Hood with scoop?

Believe me you will not like the scoop as they reflect sunlight a lot no matter what color the 4Runner is. This is from personal experience of owning a super white 2016 TEP.

The standard hood is great as it covers the engine like a boss! plus it raises up effectively with the struts. The hood also deflects debris and bird crap with 100% effectiveness.

Someone post a photo of a STi with a bird on the intercooler...

Just to echo a previous post, the scoop definitely blasts the sun right in your face, especially when it's clean! I have been driving with one for 167k and have often thought about plasti dip or black vinyl in matte or a magnet or something to mitigate it. But have dealt with it just fine.

All that being said, I still like the scoop look compared to the standard hood and wouldn't give it up, just don't want you to be surprised by the glare. you could probably find someone to trade with you in the wanted for sale thread. Good luck!

This will stop the glare and give a bit of a custom look.

I did exactly that to mine with flat black wrap, it muted the glare some but certainly not all of it. Glare was horrible early in the morning and at dusk.

The glare must be a 5th Gen problem. I've driven my silver '07 SE for 5 years with no glare issues.
