This is an easy question. It's called common sense and personal responsibility. That's why we buy a dependable off road capable vehicle (no matter where it's made) and stay with a party that values and promotes personal accountability. Most of us eat meat, know which gender we are, have decent jobs, value the family unit, believe in God and above all we love our country. We also will be the first to help regardless of political views.
 
We buy the truck we prefer just as we vote for who we choose. Relating that in any way to politics is absurd.

Generally speaking is all. Many of us here have common interests and values and I just listed a few. If you look at the poll you would see some pretty overwhelming numbers.

Okay, I see what you're saying. I have looked at the poll. It's apparent I view things differently from the majority of those who have participated so far.

Discussing politics on a 4x4 isn't something that I'll spend my time.

Generally speaking applies to my statement as well. Generally conservatives tend to favour 'made in america' and the pickup truck. Obviously there are exceptions to any generalization. My point was only that the poll results obviously dont represent America as a whole, as national polls are much more even. Just a statistical anomaly in my eyes, that I thought was worth mentioning.

You are possibly incorrect my friend. When you get away from the two coasts many of the "made in america" people tend to be Democrats because of unions. This is again, generally speaking. I am around as many liberals as conservatives and it's definitely the dems that worry about that. Conservatives tend to be more pragmatic in that regard. Now this is just a view through my eyes in a predominantly democratic state so take it with a grain of salt. Even on the coasts I would think it would be 50/50 on the made in America mentality.

What you hear on the west coast and in the media is NOT what people are really like down here. Trump rising to the top is evidence of that.

I still don't like him but he is better than the alternatives I guess.

Look everyone, I did this poll because one of these guys are going to be our next president. Right now we can choose. After November we will have no choice.

I'm very disappointed that I'll have to vote for whom I dislike the least. Much as I dislike HC, I also fear DT.

I really do not know what I'll do yet .... I cannot NOT vote.

What are we supposed to drive? That American made muscle thats built in Mexico and Canada? The most American produced vehicles built in there entirety are actually Subaru out of Indiana and Toyota Tundra out of Texas. So I guess I am pro-american built. . . and by that I mean non-union actually built vehicles.
 
OK, this post is not for anyone who has already made their mind to one degree or another. This is more to anyone who may still be on the fence. I'd say the most common pro-Trump argument I hear from friends or colleagues is that he is not a politician. He is a businessman. And that is potentially exactly what this country needs. If that's something you are thinking, this is a good op-ed piece to read. Paul Krugman is a Nobel Prize-winning economist, professor and author. He wrote a very good book called The Age of Diminished Expectations. Yes, it is very strong on his opinions, but please just consider some of the basis to his arguments.

"I’m not saying that business success is inherently disqualifying when it comes to policy making. A tycoon who has enough humility to realize that he doesn’t already know all the answers, and is willing to listen to other people even when they contradict him, could do fine as an economic manager. But does this describe anyone currently running for president?"

Recently, Elizabeth Warren, the Massachusetts senator who defrauded Harvard by pretending to be an American Indian in order to get a job there, attacked Trump (verbally, of course). His one word reply was "Pocahontas". The man is a genius. He distilled all that down to one very effective word. He is far from perfect, and I wish there were other choices. But anybody but Hillary.
 
Just out of curiosity, to those who have said something along the lines of 'anybody but Hilary'; Would you have vote for Sanders if he wins the nomination?
 
I wholeheartedly disagree with everything Sanders represents,in terms of policies and political beliefs. but at least he has integrity.

I really enjoyed my one Trump steak from of all places the Sharper Image from years back, so that reason alone I am casting my vote for him in hopes I get to enjoy such once again.
