The only small issue that I ran into using the parts I listed was I had to use a 3.75" clamp for the 90 deg that attaches to the air box. I was able to slide the elbow over the air box exit but the clamp wasn't big enough. Also, if anyone runs into any issues with the fitment with the vacuum kit, you can use sensor safe black silicone as a sealant for the fittings that go into the piping.

Heat wrap is a great idea, these motors do run hot under the hoodThe 3 1/2" clamps worked for me.
Early stages of brainstorming the next phase now.
Forgot to get the heat wrap clamp. If my son works tmrw I'll stop by and get it...

About $55 in parts. 3 1/2" is tight on the air box and a little loose on the throttle body but worked out fine. 4" off one end of the pipe and 2" off the other. Don't forget to clean all the oily gunk out of the inside before painting, brake clean eats plastidip. And don't bother with the hole saws in the vacuum fitting kit, harbor freight stepped bit for the 5/8" and hole saw for the 7/8". Looks like I'll need to redo with gloss paint and paint my engine cover too.

You talking about the little 90 degree clip that supports the MAF wire? I left it attached to the wire and ziptied the wire to an AC line back there so that if I ever want to put it back to stock it just clips back on. MAF and connector are contained in the air box lid. Or are you talking about the 3 hoses that go into the intake tube? For those I used a spectre vacuum fitting kit to drill holes, insert grommets, and appropriately sized fittings in similar to stock locations. I had to extend one tiny hose from the valve cover since the stock one that went to the rear sound chamber wasn't long enough to reach the aluminum part of the new tube.

I don't think it matters at all, the air will be travelling through the piping only for a second so it won't heat up much or at all, do whatever looks the nicest would be my theory.
