I just added a magnaflow 12586 22", very very nice not too loud but nice little growl just driving around and aggressive growl when on the throttle.

I meant to ask you did you have to cut to length the aluminum 90? Or just blot all together

I'm fairly certain the cover for the gx fits our motors. They are the exact same motor. If you look at where it bolts on its the same spot our little covers bolt onto. I agree, would be a nice little dress up.

Good eye, yes, that is an extra pigtail, it's my secondary AIP bypass because of the stupid vacuum cleaner sound.

Ah okay, I haven't had to do that yet. Just put the couplers and pipe in my cart on fleabay and vacuum nipple kit on amazon for best prices I could find. $54 and I'll have a nice intake tube like this, leaving the airbox stock though. Mainly looking to make it look smooth by getting rid of the accordion and elephantitis and a little more grunt sound would be nice.

You may want to delete your tailpipe resonator too.

Yes I tossed the resonator for a side exit tip and put a flowmaster 50 in there at the same time a while ago. Pretty quiet but great for a daily driver, and lets you know it's a V8 at idle.

OP, you understand that when you drive it in a really heavy rain or flooded road, that area might suck in a lot of water which can cause the engine to hydrolock. The fan around the engine could splash water in the air intake opening inside the engine. You could have made the hole in the back part instead of the front. even if it gets spashed with water, it's not direct to the hole. just a thought to consider.

Thank you for the concern/warning. I did consider the issue of water but it looks to me that it's fairly well hidden and not likely to suck in water. I could always add a plastic water guard or shield. And, I did open up the back as well and the side near the fender. I'll keep an eye on it during a rain and if I see any evidence of water splash near there, I will add some acrylic to block the water but allow the air to come in.

Yea I'd defiantly do that, I can't believe I didn't think about the water coming in. I know the po of mine took the whole inner fender out on the passenger side and my filter box would get water and mud and all kinds of crap in it. So yea the water danger is real. Ps started my motor swap yesterday. I think it's going well might finish today depending on help

Well I had to use some piping to make up the difference in size on the air box, it was alot smaller than the 90 degree elbow. The grommet kit you suggested worked great except for the drill bit that came with it. Two different sizes that were factory defect you couldn't cut wood with. Other than that I didn't wot my new motor yet so idk how it sounds. Might do it in a few days. Looks alot better even with two different color 90s
