I did the same when I took my daughter to Colorado for college visits. I was disappointed too. Was it just me, or does the turning radius of the 5th Gen suck?

Compass & Posting New Threads?
Given the speed at which this thread moves, I know my question will be buried soon, but does anyone have any thoughts on fixing the compass in the rearview mirror for my '06 SR5? Fuses perhaps?
Secondly, why am I not allowed to create my own thread? Is it because I'm new to the forum?

You need a minimum post count of 10-15 posts before you can start a thread. It helps cut down on spam.
As for the compass, no clue. Do you have power to the rest of the mirror? Do the homelink buttons light up? I could be wrong but, I don't think these years came with the homelink mirror from the factory. So, it could be a wiring issue.
I;m sure someone with more knowledge on the subject will chime in soon.

As mentioned you need a minimum number of posts before you can start a topic of your own, I'm pretty sure it's 15, but could be 10, I recommend you read a few topics and make a few more replies and your count will go up to the minimum quickly, you're at least 1/3 there now.
As far as your compass is concerned, you mentioned how to fix it other than a fuse, are you saying you have replaced the fuse or not?
If not then you need to do that first, many times even if the fuse "looks" good it can still be bad, check it with a multi-meter for continuity, if it's has continuity then check the voltage on both legs of the fuse socket to see if you have voltage on at least one of the legs, if so reinstall the fuse, if the mirror/compass is still not working you need to check for voltage at the mirror, if you have voltage at the mirror check the connections to make sure they are making good contact, if the compass is still not working then you need to replace the mirror.
The above is basic electrical troubleshooting, if the mirror assembly turns out to be the issue I doubt you can repair it because it's most likely a very small curcuit board that is the issue and isn't or at the very least easily repairable, then it's time to go to ebay, or your local savage yard for a replacement mirror/compass assembly.

Old headlights were turning yellow.
Replaced headlights (Shew that one bolt i read about on these threads was a mother to say the least). Ordered from EBay
Fog lights were turning yellow so i replaced those as well. (Ordered from Amazon).
Lift gate Hatch had become melted basically gunk. Replaced that too. Ordered from Amazon.

Fabbed up a hitch mount tire carrier
Got tired of the spare in the back of old Dusty so I took advantage of an early day. My girl got me a curt tire carrier for Christmas but it was real short and didn't have a hinge. So I pulled my work truck up next to the t4r and fired up the welder. Added 4" of height to the curt and added a pivot at bumper height and tucked it in closer. Added a cheap wheel spacer to push the tire out. Painted it up and temp mounted a lighted plate holder.

So I did a thing today. Removed the stock side steps, picked up a set of P285/70/17 Falken at3ws (from a buddy for $100) and ordered some 1.25” Spidertrax wheel spacers.
I haven’t been around since the hacking crap and likely won’t ever be back to this site after this post, other than to lurk. But a month or so back I tried to come up with a 3D printed cup holder insert panel, and it didn’t come out how I wanted it to, SO I bought some 1/16” rubber from Amazon. I cut 4 rubber tabs out of the material and have used those to beef up the loose cup holder situation. Now my nalgene is held in even better without using the cup holder arm, and additionally my sodas/energy drink type cans aren’t flying out or tipping halfway over when I turn. Just one screw in each corner to hold the tab in place.

04 V8 Limited, 156k, 2 owner, previous owner is a friend of a friend and also a Toyota Tech, he bought it off trade in 2 years ago.
Already has a Clarion headunit (that will be replaced in favor of apple car play) and a TRD Exhaust.
Nice looking T4R!

Did a quick and dirty chop to my Prinsu brackets so they wouldn't stick up above the awning. What a pain in the ass with a dremel.
Also bought one of those headlight refinishing kits where you wet sand before polishing.
Need to wash off the wetsanding residue, but can't get the lights wet for 24 hours. Just looking at them compared to before is such an unbelievable difference

$9,500, needs a bit of wire wheel/undercoating on the frame, but its solid. It wasn't technically even for sale, a friend of mine knew I was looking specifically for a white V8 4th gen and happened to know another friend who had this one. He was gonna sell it in the spring, but I got that time frame sped up when I told him I'd pay him his asking price and he had another car to drive.
Ran it through an auto wash when I picked it up.
Brought it home and scrubbed the front weather techs because the car wash didn't do a very good job.
Then gave the exhaust tips a quick clean/polish since they were a bit rusty.
Lots of small stuff to clean up and fix, gotta get it over to my detailer friend to bring back this white paint to a nice shine and throw some protectant on it.
there was a dry day after the minor snow and cold weather (and being a lazy butt over xmas) in virginia and i was down the coin op jet wash yesterday using the foam brush on the inner fenders and the undercarriage to get all the nasty winter salt off ma frame, followed by pressure wash.
I prepped the inner fenders with bed liner spray in readiness for approaching mods. I used rustoleum truck bed liner spray, dries reasonably quick and leaves a hard plastic fine lumpy finish. i prefer hard finish to rubberized here. 2 tins was enough to do all 4 arches with a good coating with a little left, about 2hours including masking.
i have a rough country 2" lift to go on and some decent 2011 alloys to fit with 255/75/17 yoko geo's. im going to change all four control arms aswell as the rubber boots were split. i still have alot of the frame to chasis coat, i aint gettin back under for chasis treatments until the spring until the floor is nice and warm for my a55.

i used 3m quick headlight renewal & clearcoat. agree these kind of kits work well for the money
