Still rocking the TRD components up front, but I swapped out my rear setup for Land Cruiser Tokico shocks and OME 861 springs. I absolutely love the setup and ride compared to the worn out, leaking 5100's I had and the LC80 springs.

The 80 springs are a lot softer I will say and more bouncy, which I didn't like.

I do have a seep from somewhere just not sure exactly where. I fill it to the top point every oil change, 6 quarts exactly

I think you said you change your oil every 5,000 miles. You've used about 1/4 quart in 2200. As long as it doesn't drop below the half way mark I'd just run it and keep your OCI the same. I would check it every 2,500 miles or so just to keep an eye on it but honestly not bad for a 330K mile motor.

Every 5K or less. That's essentially what I've been doing since I've noticed the decrease in level over the last few years.

Would you say a 1/4 of a quart in that time is bad?

Nope as I loose a quart in oil leaks at the 5k mile change interval. Lol..

I have a few seals to change.

It's normal for engines to consume oil during operation as well. I really wouldn't worry about it too much. GM states that 1 quart of engine oil consumption per 2000 miles is acceptable. Blows my mind but that's their standard lol

I remember once upon a time when this wasn't a thing and just didn't happen, then one day I checked my oil and noticed that it was starting to consume some. Sad face.

Do you know where you're leaking from? Are we talking valve covers or like front/rear main leaks?

Oh my valve pans leak real good. That's at least 95% of it. My front camshafts seats and crankshaft seals have been changed on a timing belt job..

There has to be SOME oil consumption - that's how the cylinder walls are lubricated. Those are oil CONTROL rings on the pistons, not oil ELIIMINATION rings on the pistons... Rotary engines have oil injectors to lube the combustion chambers.

Different oils are more/less susceptible to burning off, etc. - did you recently change brands/types?

Also, some of that oil loss might actually be replaced with other things in some circumstances (fuel dilution, anyone? not a 5VZ issue, but happens on other engines). Zero drop in oil level between changes is not necessarily the right goal.

I ran AMSOIL for years, then Pennz Platinum > Pennz Ultra Plat > SuperTech Full Synthetic High Mileage. I was noticing this when I ran the Pennz Ultra Platinum though, if memory serves me correctly. I plan to do an oil analysis sooner than later to get an update on things.

Also this is interesting to know. Maybe I shouldn't be too worried then. I think the analysis will tell me what I need to hear, at least I hope!

When my valve covers leaked enough to show spots on the garage floor I could barely notice on the dip stick, maybe 2-3mm below the top dot after 5,000 miles. It didn't seem like it lost much which surprised me since it was enough for actual drips.

I wouldn't be worried about yours using 1/4 of a quart every 2500 miles or so at 330K miles.

I haven't changed the oil yet since fixing the valve covers. It'll be due in September.

Does anyone else experience moisture in their corner lenses? This is the first time I've noticed it in these. These clear Depo lenses have been installed for roughly 3 years I believe and no issues aside from this. No visible cracks and the rubber weather gasket on the inside is sealed. Thoughts? Do I need to be concerned?

I can easily throw my OEM lenses back in and call it a day. But I wonder if I can maybe poke a paper towel inside there and dry it out. It's only on the driver side lens.

LOL... Throw one of those desiccant packs in there and call it a day. Let me guess, bought off of Ebay on a good deal...;-) Sadly that and Amazon they sale the defective ones in really cheap so they sale them off and they leak or get moisture. :-(
