Hey guys. Here is my build thread on my truck.

I purchased this 2wd 4runner with 213,xxx miles in 2021 for $1500. It had a solar panel, 12v battery and inverter, pro comp wheels, and 5100 suspension. It had some issues, the most immediate of which was cacked rack bushings. So had to replace those immediately

Yeah I hear that! I've only gotten stuck 2 times in the last 2 years. Once was while it storming, and everything turned to foamy mud. I cut a up a bush with my axe at 2am and threw the branches under tires to get out. And the other time was when I let my GF drive in deep sand, basically she stopped in the worst possible spot and we buried the diff trying to get out. Got pulled out by a good Samaritan.

I want to add a spartan locker, but I also want to regear so I can maybe go up to 33's...it just hasn't been in the budget.


I decided to go visit my friend at his cabin near Lake Isabella.

When I got back did a couple mods and addressed some issues...

Installed Eimkeith Panhard correction kit. Really improved the handling of the rear of the truck as intended.

So at full flex, had an annoying issue of Driveshaft slapping the gastank. So here was my first attempt at fixing that.

That didn't really fix it all the way. So I took a BFH and bashed in the tank where it was rubbing, haven't heard it since.

Not super impressed with 6112's. They feel very stiff, maybe if I had a heavy plate bumper that would mellow them out, but I like being nose high since. I'm glad I didn't spend $700+ on them. I want more of a squishy, prerunner feel for the truck. It handles great on the street, like a sports car haha, which is where you drive 90% of the time. Idk, I just thought they would do better off road, little too harsh

Seeing as you’re in the same area as me, how has 2wd been treating you? I have 4wd with the rear locker and debating whether or not I need to get recovery boards any time soon. I have a feeling that SoCal won’t really warrant them, but better safe than sorry.

Toytec 9602-p is what they are labeled, came with the truck. Pretty stiff for daily driver, but flex out nice. would be good on a heavy rig

I actually moved away from socal, couldn't take the madness anymore. 2wd was ok tho, only got stuck twice, once in deep sand, and once in mud durring rain storm at 2 am lol. I just pretend its a dirt bike, load up the rear, and keep moving, cant putt around like in 4 low.

Yea thats a good idea, tophat spacers and reduce preload. I just wanted to maintain the ride height the truck was at for 32's and blastin around river bottoms, but where I live now there isn't much wheeling. Setting the truck more up for the street. It has major Driver side lean, i just measured it:

Can't answer with those measurements.
Measure from hub center to wheel well on level surface. Stock front is 20" rear 20.5"
1st things 1st figure out what your going to run for front lift.
Old man emu has a variety check out the website ToyTec sells them.
For my 2.75" front lift I went 3'' lift OME 890's it sets level.
Stay away from OME shocks & stuts.
