Help! Top of Rear Shock Mount Rusted Away

So I was driving in the town next to base and some of the roads are being torn up for construction...Got through it fine but afterwards I kept hearing a clinking sound from the rear end going over bumps.

Got back on post and look under my vehicle and I find this:

It looks like the top of the rear shock mount rusted away and came out...it is now resting on...I dunno what. Surprisingly the truck is still level.

Need a quick fix with the local dealers closing soon. How hard is it to replace?

I've been playing around with the idea of lifting my truck, but now...I guess I'm screwed a bit having to buy new shock(s).

Also, the shock is completely compressed.

First, is it just the top part of the shock that's gone? Like, the part the nut goes on to?

It looks like the shock mount is still in place, so you can probably just go to the parts store and get some new shocks.

Get me some better pictures and I can tell you exactly what you need to do.

Pics from the side, and underneath will be great as well. As well as the actual shock.

Your shock broke. I had it happen to me. The truck is level because the spring is what controls the height not the shock. Your shock mount looks like it is in decent shape. What you are probably looking at is the part of the shock that broke off is still on top of the mount. Just go get a new set of rear shocks.

mount is fine, top shock stud snapped. replace shocks and go wheel it.

Thanks for the help everyone, I was just panicking.

Indeed the top of the shock broke, I put my hand into the cupped area above the mount and it was full of dried mud.

Here is the pic of the shock after I got it out:

I went to the local Toyota dealer to order an OEM one($65 each!) but they had to order it and it wasn't coming in until Tuesday. I held off. I think I'm gonna try to find some LC 8 wraps and order LC tokicos and lift the rear with a spacer lift[for now] for the front.
