anyone know where to find a complete write up on a manual swap for a 2002?

I very interested in performing the swap, but I am quite confused by all the posts on the topic. Can anyone provide a write-up on a manual swap a 2002 4Runner? Has anyone this swap?

I am primarily for a parts list and step-by-step instructions for disassembly of the automatic transmission and assembly.

Additionally, I would like to know the price range and total cost.

I like to be well-prepared so I want to know exactly what I am getting into.

ive done it on my 2000. It's going to be more difficult on the 2002 because there are no 2002 Manual ECUs available. But it probably can be done. Its too big of a job for a step-by-step writeup, but here is my thread

Total cost was about +- $3000, but I bought a wrecked manual truck for the donor, which i would recommend doing.

There's no one way to do the swap, so there isn't one write up that will work for you.

Buying a complete wrecked 99/00 4Runner manual is going to be your best starting point. There are lots of little bits that you will need that won't come in a 'kit' you get form someone parting out a 4Runner or Tacoma.

If you are going to pay someone to do the work, it might be a smarter to sell your 4Runner and buy a 99/00 4x4 manual instead. This isn't cheap from a labor standpoint but doesn't have to be crazy from a parts standpoint. Make sure you do maintenance while you are in there - seals, clutch, etc.
