Yeah, I would love to do those lights on my rig!

Bit of a late update considering I did this stuff last weekend but oh well.

Finished installing my winch and wound it under a load.

And added the Savage Skids my wife got me for Christmas!

This weekend I'll probably work on some maintenance. Need to change the oil and rotate the tires. Check things over. Spring trips start soon.

I'm a sucker for electrical projects so I decided to wire up some rock lights. I'm hoping to do a night run at the upcoming Lone Star Jamobree and thought they'd be fun to have.

Looks great. What lights did you use?

Thanks!

I went with 8 of these and jb welded a stout neodymium magnet to the back of them and stuck them were I needed. So far they haven't budged, we will see if that is still the case after getting offroad some.

I've never had a great system for organization on trips. It usually just ends up being a huge mess of stuff crammed in the back. Watching the Classifieds a Group Buy for these slides came up. The dimensions for the 3rd Gen didn't quite match up but a modification could make it happen, and add even more functionality.

Started with this:

Added one of these:

And ended up with this:

Fits two large storage containers and two smaller storage containers underneath.

Loaded up! (Not going to use the bungee cords on the heavy stuff of course, just getting a feel for fit) And it sits behind the backseat as well.

*Update*

Used it for the first time on a trip and it worked great! Couple of improvements coming soon!

Nice

For clarification, it does not drop in properly between the wheel wells (first pic) without modification correct? Looks good by the way man.

It is a very tight fit. I didn't bolt it down to try it but it will rub the carpet quite a bit.

Provide 12v to the positive side of the lights and then connect the ground side to the door jam switch. When the door opens the circuit is complete.

Last weekend I went down to the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree which admittedly isn't my normal type of trip. I like remote places and good friends but this event turned out to be a very good time. It was nice being able to look at the vendors wares and look over their rigs.

Most trails were muddy and rutted from recent rains making even the easy trails potentially challenging. Eventually new trail ratings were being changed at the pavilion to try and help people find what they were looking for. I didn't run as many trails as I was hoping to due to the unknown and stuck with a couple guided runs before setting off to explore the second day.

After watching a few FJs sticking a wheel in the air here I thought it'd be fun to do the same. The 4Runner had other plans!

Waiting on a guided run to start.

The only thing I wasn't loving about the slide was the lack of anywhere to tie down in the center. When the ice chest is in it blocks off the right side tie downs. At the Lone Star Jamboree a vendor had some Front Runner adjustable tie down so I picked some up and today got around to installing them.

I lined it up and marked out the center. Then routed out a slot for it to sit down into.

Thats an awesome flex shot!

The best thing about a flexy rig is you dont always have to pick the best line.

Thanks! I rather like that shot myself. I'm not sure what I did but it does seem to flex pretty well.
