JWaldz '99 Adventure Build - Dual Locked | Geared | Mid-Travel | 35s | Armored
**** Unfortunately, Photobucket has decided to change the allowance for 3rd party linking rendering all of my pictures to die in this thread. However, if you wold like the fix this issue on either Google Chrome or Mozilla FireFox please follow this link for a free Photobucket Hotlink Fix extension >> Here
---------------------------------------
Well, the urge to do this finally caught up with me... I know I'm a little late on this but oh well. Lord knows I feel like I've done this 100 times, but I just don't have an actual build thread. I've done quite a few mods over the past couple years, so I couldn't possibly make up for all of it to show you guys. We'll just start with what she was when I got her to current. So, without further ado....

Gonna be looking at some used 315/75-16 Toyo Open Country MT's on Tuesday. We'll see how good they are and maybe get a good deal for them. Just don't know how I feel about E rated tires on these rigs. If they're in good shape and will last me a while I'll sell off the bighorns and figure out what I want to do with the spare money Really want to try and start piecing together the Tundra brake swap because me brakes are pretty shot.
What you guys think? Keep the 285 bighorns and do the brake swap or go with the 315 toyos, sell off the bighorns and then do the brake swap?

I run E's and I can't really tell a difference.
I'd go with the toyos
Don't you need 17s for tundra brake mod?

thanks for the input! No, 16's from what I understand. But even so, I may have to run the minimal front spacer to run the 315's.

199mm Tundra calipers will bolt right up and fit with the 5 star rims, but if you have to run a spacer anyways to clear the fat tires, then you may as well go with the 231mm calipers.
Nice truck!

I run Michelin LTX AT 285/75r16 Es and like Rc4r says, not much difference in the way they feel but they are HEAVY. I'd have preferred Cs, given a choice.
Yes 16" for the tundra swap. Are you going for the 231mm or 199mm? Spacers were necessary with my Landcruiser rims and 231mm.

I'd prefer the 231mm because of all the extra weight Ive got. I'm surprised the 231mm didn't work on the lc wheels without a spacer. But like I said, I'm gonna have to run a spacer to fit the meats.
