What LEDs are you guys using to replace your factory reverse lights guys?

I replaced mine with LEDs and switched back to halogen. The LEDs are very bright, especially as far as visibility to others, but didn't throw much light. So backing up sucked. I used NOMA garden light replacements bulbs. Similar style but higher wattage. I think there may be a thread if you looked up reverse light upgrade.

I say ditch the leds and do the 15w hid reverse light kits. Its bright. Another good solution is to leave it stock and add some reverse fogs at the bottom of the bumper. I tried leds before and it looks bright, it wasn't even lighting up the rear.

while i have the replacement led's i must agree, if you want light, add auxiliary.

I actually designed a bracket to mount a small LED bar right under the spoiler. It shines light exactly where I want it and I hardly notice it when looking throughout the rear view mirror.
I'm working on a redesign to make the bracket lower profile and to construct it out of aluminum and then anodize it.
I also just helped wire some for my friends FJ.
I have extra lights and will be making extra brackets if anyone is interested.

Reverse fogs and reverse hids. So bright. Since u have an 04, have you consider modify the rear bumper reflector and put the rear fogs there? I know on eBay they have it done but in bright red like European cars.

Ditto this. Like the idea of a higher light pointing downward than my current set up next to my hitch and slightly pointing up.

I'm looking for a brighter option for the factory reverse light socket too. I replaced the factory halogen with an led from a led interior kit I bought, and all the lights are great except for the reverse lights which throw no light at all, but the whole kit was 15 bucks so I guess I can't expect too much. I have two 6" flat pods mounted on the bumper, but those aren't wired into the reverse circuit because it's honestly overkill 95% of the time. So whats a good option for replacing the factory back up light, that fits in the stock location, and actually throws off some usable light?

I should have a few brackets cut by the end of the week. The bracket mounts to the spoiler by using the existing brake light screws. The brackets will be constructed out of aluminum and probably hard coat anodized to help limit corrosion. Plus with anodizing, I can change the color depending on the application. More info to come later. (I might start a new thread so nobody feels I high jacked this one for my own use...)
