Something to be said for disconnecting the Battery

I found my transmission shifts a little differently and smoother much like the day I drove it off the lot after disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. The only minor inconvenience is resetting the auto-down feature on the windows and resetting the clock. For some reason my radio presets were not lost. The radio must have a battery backup of it's own

because you cleared up the driving habit memory to the ecu? i don't know if 4R has that but i know supra does, the ecu will base on your driving habit and learn your way to shift in 150 miles or so. if you do more aggressive driving, the tranny will shift at higher rpm.

Yes, the T4R has an engine and tranny learn feature.

I just replaced my battery, and although the auto-down features of the window were lost at first they came back after starting the engine a few times.

The engine also gave me an odd hesitation while coming to a stop and a rough idle. This also stopped after a few short drives. I attribute this to the computer learning about the new air filter and exhaust.

Is that why my shifts @ 4,5000 RPM? Maybe I got to take it easy on that gas pedal.

Interesting , seems like it would not be a bad thing to do from time to time.
