Moon Roof Lube.... what are you using?

My moon roof/sunroof has now got to the stage that it wont even close. The factory jelly like lube has dried out. I have used some WD40 just so I could get the glass to close (raining).

So any suggestions on where to get some of that factory lube jelly Toyota use? AutoZone, Napa, O'rielys, Advance auto parts, Amazon?

Anything silicone based (or lithium based). Petroleum based will not work well with the gasket.

Mobil1 synthetic grease is what they use.

White Lithium Grease is what I use on all vehicle doors and slides. It is in an aerosol can with a straw type applicator.

On-Topic: You don't have to order it. NAPA, Advance Auto, WalMart and most places carry it. It's in a blue spray can.

Bike Chain lubrication is mainly what I use the white lithium for in my garage.. and my crew drive garage door opener.

Mine got very noisy and the lube dried out. Never quite got to where it wouldn't operate, though. It seems to be the result of not frequent enough usage.

I use lithium, too, and it took a while to get everything squared around but once I got in the habit of operating the moon roof frequently, it's been trouble free ever since.

I prefer a silicone grease like dielectric grease as it doesnt dry out as quick as lithium, which seems to become abrasive when dry.
 
Would you guys recommend cleaning out the tracks before spraying in the new lithium grease, or just try to get into the habit of maintaining it every once in a while with a spritz or two?
 
Plumbers grease. It's silicon grease and you can get at lowes in the plumbing section. I use it on all o rings, etc. as well.
