Not mine. That's on an FJ Cruiser I found with a search. On my chevy HD2500 with stock tires a sheared one off at the end of the bell near the splines. I've broken lots of axles in my land cruiser. They are more like this:
That was back when you didn't have much upgrade options. Now for about $750 you can upgrade the solid axle shafts and joints to extremely strong aftermarket stuff that will hold up to 38" tires and low gears all day long. There's nothing out there to upgrade CV axles in a similar way. RCV makes some shafts for about $2500 a set, and they're considerably weaker than a solid axle from everything I've read about them. There's just not a good option for cv axles to increase strength.
