Is There A Secret List Of FN Wheels Somewhere?

Been extremely happy with my FN Wheels and would buy them 100x again. Thinking about changing mine up though because everyone seems to have the Pro wheels. Whether OEM or their version.

If they're matte black, hit me up and I'll buy them off you. I'm in CA also

I seen ones on sale on ebay for around $640 from tacomaworld but it does not say who makes them but they are 17x8?Anyone have any more info on them?

Haha you probably wouldn't want mine. They are those, but I have major chips and scratches all over them from wheeling. Of course if that's what you want them for they'd be a perfect fit.

Hey if you want to sell, send me some pics and I'll see how bad they are. I'm gonna end up bashing them around anyway.

I just placed my order and was wondering what type of lugs do the FN FX wheels use? I know it comes with my order, but I want to get a set of locking lugs for security.

*Edit*** Dustin just sent an email, McGard Part # 25357 (for those that need the info)

Forgive me for being a little off topic here - I have the FX Pros with 265/70/17 (stock size). I had them installed when I did the lift and alignment. Even though the KO2s are stock size i had rubbing on the lower lip of the bumper, driver side front. I didn’t understand why stock size would rub and I have been hesitant to go 285 because of this. Maybe the alignment is pushed too far forward. Do you have any recommendations for alignment values if I decide to go 285 or 295?

Thanks

They are 17x8 rather than 17x7 They are 4.5" BS which is perfect for a 285 or 295 under the 4RUnner and maybe the Tacoma. They are said to be a stronger alloy and weight less than the OEM wheels. They use different lugs and a completely different center cap. Doesn't sound like a knockoff to me but we all have an opinion. Only thing I regret about the FX Pro wheels is buying them in gunmetal rather than black but I can live with that.

It's rubbing because you changed the scrub radius, pushing the wheel out further from the center of the axle will cause it to turn in a different arc. If you're on stock suspension, keep alignment within stock tolerances and just trim the bumper. Or else get a wheel that doesn't stick out as far.

I assume you have stock upper control arms based on your signature. When I was at 3" I also had stock arms and only got 1* of caster with the cam bolts maxed out. Really All I can say is with 3" of lift I also had rubbing on the lower inner edge of the front bumper. That's very common, it's something that's pretty much expected. With all that said, when I dropped down to 1.5" of lift I still had my 295/70/17 Ridge Grapplers and still had stock uppers with the cam bolts maxed out the same way for as much caster as possible. I had no rubbing at all anywhere and all I ever did was the fender liner mod and bumper trim. Here's mine at 1.5" of lift and 295s on the FX Pro wheels.

Thanks for the info. I’m lifted about 2”. It sounds like if I have the alignment pushed back toward the center I would have avoided the rub with stock size. When I go to 285s I’ll redo the alignment because the way it is now, I’m sure I’d have to do a lot of trimming.

Bad idea. You want the caster, removing caster means poor ride quality and handling. Trim the bumper, get as close to 4* of caster as possible which won't happen at 2" and stock arms but you want the lower control arm cam bolts maxed out to get you as close to that # as possible. 0 toe, 0 camber, 4* caster is roughly where you want to be.

Will aftermarket upper control arms allow me to get closer to 4* caster?

Looking at the paperwork from alignment, caster numbers:

Before
left/front caster=1.5*, camber=-0.7*, toe=-0.1*
right/front caster=2.0*, camber=0.5*, toe=-.09*

After
left/front caster = 2.7*, camber=-0.2*, toe=0.1*
right/front caster = 3.1*, camber=.2*, toe=.09*

It sounds like I’ll need to get the caster pushed out a little further??? I’m afraid I’ll I have to trim even more off that bumper than I already did... which was already a pretty healthy chunk.

Thank you so much for the guidance. I appreciate the info.

Yes new uppers will improve caster however I don't think you really need them looking at your numbers. Move the liner forward and trim as much as you can on both sides. You can't see it in there anyway, why not open it up?

I read the whole thread and have one question. Is the object to buy a set of wheels then get your alignment tweaked to eliminate as much rubbing as possible?

No, point is buy a set of wheels made to fit the truck properly with the given tire you want to run. 17x8 with 4.5" BS and 0 offset is damn near perfect. Everyone kept asking me how I got a 295 under my truck with 1.5" lift and no body mount chop. Answer would be because I did my homework and didn't try and run something that simply doesn't fit.

Definitely give Dustin a call to see what type of wheels he carries. He’ll work with you to see what you have envision for your truck. Got the FN Five Star’s in 17x8.5...Couldn’t be happier with Dustin’s services and FN Wheels!

Mind posting a pic of your 4Runner?
