It's not an application, it's a service. Toyota Service Connect | Toyota Service App & More It is exactly what is used to report your exact mileage to Carfax.

Yeah, that will kill it on 19s and earlier.
The fuse in the 20s is under the dash and is labeled DCM but it also kills the microphone for hands free calling or Siri so pulling it is quite detrimental. That's pretty shitty.
I know it's unlikely to get an exact hit, but I do think this is the best bet. Mine always reports a number down to the mile and it's never exactly correct. If they're estimating for thousands of different cars, they're bound to guess right every once in a while.
Report back in several thousand miles and see if it still is in agreement!

It could be one of those apps by the car insurance companies that offer you a discount if you let them monitor your driving habits. For example Progressive's Snapshot App. Do you have any installed on your phone? Their terms and conditions are pretty wide open and they have your VIN and certainly pass accident info to carfax.

Thanks for the link. I called Toyota on this. They are adamant my vehicle is not equipped with this. I also have no applications on my phone in connection to my vehicle. Bluetooth, yes. I have sent an inquiry about this in writing. If anything comes of it I will report back.

Not in a 19 or older it shouldn't. In a 20+ it will disable the hands-free microphone which is terribly inconvenient.
19 here. Thank you very much. I am hoping I find said fuse under hood.
Edit: What made you pull the fuse? Anything occur or just peace of mind?

There are images of the under hood fuse block online that will show you the fuse. It's labeled "Mayday" and is in the lower left hand corner of the box on a 19.
In a 20, it's under the dash and labeled DCM in case this comes up in a search somewhere.
For me it's peace of mind. I don't like being a piece of data for someone to sell. Kind of anachronistic in today's world I know, but nevertheless I prefer to pretend I have some modicum of control over that. I was quite angry when I realized that the microphone for bluetooth phone calls also stopped working.

I have a 2019 ORP I bought last July. I signed up for the service connect which apparently was discontinued in favor of Carfax. I also have Entune and Carfax apps on my phone. I can be sitting in the house and look in the Maps Destinations on my phone and it will show PARKED CAR 25 ft. away on my street. When I'm at work it will show my car to be approx. 1,200 ft. away. So somebody knows where I am.
Just checked my Carfax mileage and they are about 600 miles over the actual.

Maybe the microphone is connected to the mayday fuse in the 2020s so it can listen to conversations and transmit them as well as location. You know big brother is always listening type thing.
Just found the diagram. Thanks for the tip. Pulling the Mayday fused causes the bluetooth mic to stop working? Thats a big no! Crap.
Maps destination in Entune? Last time I had that app it didn't show anything like that and I did specifically check. I was never presented with a sign up for Service Connect. Odd.

It is the Maps Destinations section in my iPhone not Entune. Depending where I am, it will show the appropriate distance from the vehicle. Right now the 4Runner is in my garage.

Your phone will do that anytime you connect it to a vehicle’s Bluetooth. It’s not a 4Runner/Toyota thing. It saves the location where it is turned off (disconnected).
Also, carfax just approximates where your miles are at based on averages. It’s always fairly accurate to my odometer. “Big brother” isn’t tracking you, you’re not that cool. And if they are, you can turn off the location services on your vehicle and phone all you want, that’s not how phones are tracked through government or military signals intelligence.

Eh, it's possible it's sending your voice off to a server farm to process it so your truck's system will be more likely to do what you want it to. The onboard processing power might not be good enough to handle your voice.
If that's the case, I wonder what'll happen when your data plan runs out. Will the microphone become useless? I guess it would still work if you're using Android Auto or Apple Carplay, but still.
