I saw the price drop too and decided now's the time :biggrin1: Can't beat that price plus prime is a blessing. It'll be in tomorrow! I'll post pics when it's installed!
 
I ordered one too, however they had one in Warehouse Deals for $100! Damaged packaging.... Mine isn't coming in 2 days though, for some reason even with Prime it's taking closer to a week. I can wait for that kind of savings. I'll post up too when I get it on.
 
I keep finding these threads while I'm drinking and then I order shit I don't need to.

Anyway I'll let you guys know how I like it because it'll be here on Tuesday lol

Seriously, I think it's a great deal and can't imagine you'll regret it this morning.

Are you guys going to take any extra steps for rust prevention? I was thinking silicone caulking around the seams, and I might pour a liquid paint inside and try to completely coat the inside before I assemble it.
 
Installed! Without the fairing for now since i still have to paint over the Rola trademark. Now I gotta decide if I want the low brackets or the extension first! Overall, i'm really diggin this rack. Definitely more wind noise than before but that was expected anyways :party: And to Arn, I didn't take any steps for rust prevention though I should have since i've seen some issues with this rack.

Looks great! I wonder if the noise will diminish once you get the fairing on there? Yeah, I've seen pics of these things pissing rust water all over your paint, definitely going to take some precautions.

Mine is scheduled to be here Thursday; guess the Prime shipping doesn't always apply to warehouse deals....
 
Those rubber gaskets were a gigantic pain in the ass to put on. Took 90% of the assembly time for me. My rack is now assembled I just need to put it on the roof. I'll take pictures later once it's up.
 
I need to adjust it a bit but I have it installed now. I pushed it forward to get it away from the shark-fin antenna, but now I think it's too far forward. I also think it looks better with a black factory rack instead of my silver one.

It was also a bit difficult to keep it level with the curved bars of the stock roof rack. I put it on at night but I could tell today that it was a little off center. Other than that very easy to install.

Just pulled the trigger and ordered 2 extension to make it longer. We'll see how it works out. I'll post pick when installed.

I like the length of the Gobi, hence the decision but I'm pretty sure I have to fabricate something[emoji51]

Finally got mine in!

To try to mitigate the rust issue with these, I poured some motor oil down the tubes and rolled it around to try to coat the insides, drained it, and used copious amounts of silicon. No idea if this will work, but it's gotta be better than nothing. I soaked the rubber seals in hot water for a while before installing, seemed to help a little.
