My new 4Runner will be here in a few days and they call for 0-20 synthetic oil. I would like to use 5-20 or 10-30 synthetic oil. I don't think the very long term use of that weight thin of oil will give as good of engine wear out to 200,000 miles. What are the rest of you using. Toyota says the 0-20 will give from .4 to .6 mpg more over thicker oil. I am not concerned about the extra mileage.

Use the toyota 0w-20 syn. The engine was designed to use it and the oil was specifically designed by mobil for new toyota engines that require it. Unless you really think you know better than the engineers that designed the engine, you should go with the oil that was designed for it.
