    touch screen replacement

For me, the display showed everything normally but the touch-sensitive digitizer was not working, so that is all I replaced. It's still working almost 5 years later. Your picture looks like part of the display is not working. You could try to buy a display and digitizer together and see if...

    touch screen replacement

The touch screen on our 2014 SR5 stopped working properly, so I bought and installed just the digitizer, and now everything works. Below is a “how-to” guide. First the details. Our 2014 SR5 has the non-JBL stereo with navigation, cd slot on top, with 57079 on the bottom of the faceplate. It’s a...

Towing Travel Trailer in the Rockies

Is it really true that the transmission is the limiting factor when towing, and not the V6 engine torque? And, utilizing 4th-gear lockup it great when possible, but slower roads will preclude that, yes? So if the 14400-btu B&M 70264 isn't sufficient, why not add a 29200-btu B&M 70274? It...

Towing Travel Trailer in the Rockies

Thanks dsfra for the informative post. What's a reasonable maximum transmission fluid temperature? A chart posted awhile ago said 235 degrees required changing after 12000 miles. Certainly over 200 degrees is not desirable, but at what temperature do you stop and fast idle? Bill

Towing Travel Trailer in the Rockies

dsfra, do you know how many degrees the B&M 70264 transmission cooler lowers the transmission fluid temperature? Is the temperature drop different towing versus non-towing? Did you install it in series with the stock radiator transmission cooler, and if so, is the B&M after the stock cooler? I...

    2014 accessory power

Hi all, I installed a wired rearview monitor for a trailer-mounted camera in my 2014 SR5, so wanted accessory power from somewhere in the center console. There is a 2-wire bundle that powers the console storage 12-volt port and the 2 rearseat 12-volt ports, so it was easy to tap from one of the...

    2014 driver-side A-pillar trim removal

Hi gringo, I didn't see a second threaded bolt hole on the driver-side A-pillar near the clip. The bolt behind the driver-side airbag cover is 3.75" below the top of the trim piece. The top of the passenger grab handle is the same 3.75" and the bottom of the passenger grab handle is 7" below...

    2014 driver-side A-pillar trim removal

Hi all, I mounted a scangauge with a blendmount on the rearview mirror of my 2014 SR5. This required removing the driver-side A-pillar trim to run the cat5 cable. I looked at the 2010 service manual, but I think the 2014 is different, so thought I would document what I did. My 2014 A-pillar...
