I am going to look at a 1993 4runner for a crawler investment tomorrow and it does have a blown head gasket. I am confident I can do repairs on my own but I did see some "quick fix" solutions. Now these "quick fix" solutions really don't ever do what they say they will, so my main question is...
the best replacement engine i can find is still $850, the only reason i was considering a 22re is because it was low miles and only $450 so if i got the v6 for $850 i would be looking at around $1000 plus the cost of the runner.... worth it?
Just like the post says.... Will a rebuilt 22re engine from an 87 runner fit in a 96 3rd gen? I dont know anything about these 22re's so this might be a really dumb question.... the engine i have in the 96 now is knocking.... Does that mean i might need a rebuild/new engine? Pleas respond...
I want to beat every car or truck in a drag race. And that wasn't even my runner.... I just creamed on the supercharged engine but the engine with twins is beautiful! Im not trying to put together this engine with stuff in a ctolog, im going by what people on this website have done and what works.
So do you have any recomendations? I think its pretty obvious to say you get what you pay for right? so if you spend $500 plus on chips, how much more do you really get?
