I just got a 1997 4runner. 2.7L, 5speed. Exhaust manifold sounds like it has a crack. Should I just replace it with another cast one, or one of those newer tube type. What years would fit ??????

It seems they changed the ignition system in 1997. No distributor. I also think they changed the EFI system in that year. It is a 4cly, 5speed. Don't have it yet. Picking it up next week.

I downloaded the 1996 manual, but there are lots of things different from the 1997. Is there a 1997 manual that can be downloaded????

Has anyone tried to run the oil cooler without the water hose connected???? Is the oil cooler even needed???? I was thinking of removing the cooler and adding another oil filter in it's place. Anyone ever tried this????
