    Tundra Rims/Tires

Seeing that I'll probably need tires later this year, that my three-spokes are badly pitted and that I plan to do the Tundra brake mod, I decided to buy some of the 5-spoke Tundra rims. When I last purchased tires a few years back I went with the General Grabber HTS. It's been a good all-around...

Cargo rack with existing roof rack

I'd do that if you're fairly sure they'll work. I can take a picture of the rack in a bit. But to my original question, do those attach to the factory crossbars?

Cargo rack with existing roof rack

I purchased a tent trailer a few months back and as part of the deal, the fellow 4Runner owner threw in a cargo rack. Unfortunately no mounting hardware came with it. Would I just buy some U-bolts and attach it to the rails on the existing factory rack? It doesn't have any markings/brand on it...

Need help with estimate - legit?

Took my '99 SR5 into my mechanic today because I've noticed an increase in stopping time. The axle seal was leaking onto the rear left brakes, so that needs to be replaced. They recommend doing both if I plan to keep the truck, which I do. They also found the water pump was leaking, so now i'm...

    Double DIN Stereo

Also, should the factory brackets that I'll need for the double-DIN still be there? I would imagine the kit that was used attached the stereo mount and the storage unit used them, but I'm not sure.

    Double DIN Stereo

I get a sweet discount on Pioneer stuff through work, and that's the same one I'm thinking about! I can't justify the NAV either...even with my discount it's still over $500, although it is tempting because I'm moving to LA in a few months. Probably just get a standalone NAV unit for that. Good...

    Double DIN Stereo

Wondering what people's thoughts are on double DIN-sized stereo units. Right now I have a single DIN aftermarket Pioneer with the storage compartment, but I find that things constantly fall out of the storage area so I rarely use it. Was going to upgrade my stereo to one with Bluetooth built in...

Hi guys new to forums need advice to increase mpg.

Same boat here. I did the plugs when I first got it, then had it tuned up at my mechanic and had the Motorvac cleaning done. All that's really left are plug wires and fuel filter.

    Poor Gas Mileage

Welcome to the board! MPGs is a subject that comes up all the time. Here are a few threads to get you started: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/85076-extremely-low-gas-mileage.html http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/80254-whats-up-my-gas-mileage.html...

    Extremely low gas mileage

Interesting to know about the operating temp and how it relates to gas mileage. I too live fairly close to work, the grocery store, the gym, etc. so most of the trips I make are short. Plus I can't say anything is wrong because on highway trips my mileage is in line with what it should be, I've...

    Oil

Most of this forum is repeat threads, in case you haven't noticed. Do we need another thread on lifts? Starter contacts? Tires? Wheels?

    Oil

With 162k or so on my '99, what kind of oil should I be using in it? Since I bought it I've just used standard oil. Is it time to switch to synthetic or high-mileage? It's time for an oil change so I thought I'd see what y'all recommend. Thanks!

    200 miles on a tank?

Is there an additive you can use to counter the loss of MPGs in winter gas? If so, is it worth it?

    Starter Problem?

You're better off replacing the contacts. The labor will be about the same and the Denso starters are much better built than any auto parts store starter will be.
