They're definitely not R-134A quick-disconnects. The R-12 gauges we have don't seem to fit correctly - like the AC valves are too small. I can't see Toyota doing something like this, but there it is. I'll get some pictures.

We changed out the engine coolant temperature sensor, and got the idle to drop down to about 850-875 RPM after usually being at 1100 RPM or so. A small victory, but maybe it will help. Next, we going to take out and clean the PCV valves. We'll see what happens after that - most likely the EGR...

I was thinking the same thing. Throttle position sensor has already been suggested. I've had problems with a Mass Air Flow Sensor that could give problems like this. But heck, it could be the ECU. Time to break out the digital multimeter, carb & choke cleaner, and check for a fuel supply...

You'd probably want to use a gauge of wire that is at least as big as the one supplied with the lights. You'll be running a bit of current through those ground wires. Nice looking rig/install, and best of luck to Caesar.

Did a very fundamental test and very rudimentary cleaning on the EGR hoses and vacuum activation (don't really want to drop $145+ - my cost - on a part if we're not convinced it is blown. We've done that enough). Both seem to be fine. We're planning on looking at the temperature sensor next...
