Of the 4cyl toyotas how do these rank in terms of longevity ? Ive got a 91 4runner now, but im looking at a 1995 tacoma pickup 4x4 that has this motor in it. Im only familiar with the 22R engines. Time to do some research. Comments ?

Im looking at about $2800 for a swap for a new 3.0 VZE at a local shop to do all the work. How much more for the 3.4L and how much "custom" fitting needs done ? Im not sure I can find someone local to do it. I will check though. The website also makes note that the transmission in my 91 wont...

They do engine installs/swaps with remanufactured toyota engines. Anyone ever use them ? American Engine Installations

When did they start making the 3.4L ? I wasnt aware you could put one in a 91 4Runner. Will all of my other accesories bolt right back on, such as AC etc ?

Ive got a 91 4runner with the 6cyl and im planning to have the engine swaped out with a remanufactured toyota motor from a local shop. However, id like some suggestions for boosting the horsepower by 50 or so. Where is the first item to consider ?

91 4runner. V6

I just had the front axles rebuilt. Its a sound like something small and metallic is loose and is hitting something. Its speed sensitive, but random because it doesnt sound on every rotation of the wheel. any ideas ? im taking it in to the garage tomorrow.

I have a 91 4Runner with the V6 (3VZ-E) motor. How much am I looking at to rebuild ? Im just getting prepared. It doesnt use any oil yet, but other 4runners ive seen have been getting the head gasket job at around 190K mark and im getting close.
