Mine is a 2006 Sport V-6 with 240K miles . Have replaced a radiator and had the head gasket problem around 210K . I can't find anything I like better . Really dislike the current 4-Runner mostly because they made it bigger for some unexplained reason . Maybe I can hang-on until 2018 but doubt...

I think I have isolated some of the problem . I have one of those add-on Satellite receivers that plays through an FM channel . AM reception improves if I turn off the satellite radio . Better but not great . Thanks .

Did find some videos showing removal of the radio , thinking I might at least check connections . Man ! Whatever happened to just popping the head unit out ? They look like they were dismantling the car , taking apart the console and parts of the dash . Not a job for me .

Not sure the head gasket issue is limited to those years. I blew one at 185K on my 2006 V6 Sport. Now at 216K because I can't find anything new I like as much as my 2006 . Do not like Gen 5. Too tall, too wide, too everything . Not sure Gen 6 will be any better but hanging on .
