Frosted Headlight Tip

Don't know about you but I have tried a variety of these kits for reconditioning frosted headlight lenses with mixed success . Only one of mine was bad because the other one had been replaced with a new one (don't ask) .Yesterday I had it done professionally and it was pretty easy . My guy said "I gave up on the drills and buffers a long time go."
He used a spray bottle of water and sandpaper. He sprayed the lens with water then used a square of 600 grit sandpaper to go over the lens. He cleaned that off with a cloth, then continued with 1000 grit sandpaper . He cleaned it off with a wet cloth and dried it. He then masked off the headlight and sprayed it with clearcoat to seal it . Took about ten minutes and looks great .

I decided to be ghetto one day and used cinnamon toothpaste on my headlights. Low and behold it worked. The cinnamon has these little granules in it that acts as a sanding agent and removed quite a bit of the yellowing but nowhere near what actual sandpaper will do.

I ran a buffer over mine headlights. I used two different grits of compound than finished it with a coat of wax. Looked good for several months but it's hazing over again. I think this summer I'll buff them again but this time use some clear coat like on your headlights to try and preserve them longer.
