    Lift Issues

I recently put a 3" lift on my '97 and as a just in case, a toytec diffdrop. Problem is, the diff drop did nothing, and the cv boots on both sides popped loose. Took it to the dealers, and they "dont just do boots" (which turned out to be the case everywhere around here) and for the full replace...

Tie rod ends and upper control arms stuck

Finally finished. I rented $350 some odd worth of tools (ball joint press set, pickle fork set, ball joint puller, etc) from advance and aurozone (you get the money back of course) and not a single one worked for popping upper or lower ball joints to allow the install of the front strut. My...

Tie rod ends and upper control arms stuck

I may give that a shot. Im going tomorrow to beg the tool posted earlier for the lower and if the upper doesnt relese easily, im just going to use a jack to spread everything apart. If you noticed, the video is different from the instructions, and the parts i received are different than those...

Tie rod ends and upper control arms stuck

I got the Rough Country 3" lift for my truck and am in the process of breaking down the truck to install. Both sides tie rods are stuck solid and am afraid to use the hammer removal method anymore. Also stuck and not releasing is the upper control arms, both sides. Should i just continue to...

Key stuck in Acc position; wont turn off

Well, that did it. Pulled that plug (located just forward of the shift lever) and the key pulled straight out. Who knows what it was, but i took a photo in case someone else needs a reference point.

Key stuck in Acc position; wont turn off

I will give that a shot. My truck is basically a beater i love too much, so one more "safety" feature disconnected wont make a difference to me. Thank you, now to wait for the kid to wake up from her nap to start the loud cursing that comes with interior wrenching. Ill update as to whether it...

Key stuck in Acc position; wont turn off

My key is stuck in the accessory position, meaning i CAN turn it to 'on' and 'start' (and car will start) but CANT remove it from the lock or turn car off. The car is in park, but the first few times this happened i just jammed the conrol to park hard and the steering lock engaged and all was...

    Valve Cover Gasket issues

This thread is dead but let me use it to warn newer mechanics to ensure everything is tightened properly. Why wouldnt my car start? I didnt tighten the battery leads enough. $130 trip to dealers not including the tow only to be told the battery wasnt connected. Talk about feeling stupid...

    Rear heater bypass and removal.

    Radiator leak?

Failed to update at the time, but at least i can comment on what has happened in the last 6 months. I got the AutoZone house brand radiator to avoid shipping woes and costs for about $110. Total replacement, even with having a separate trans cooling unit mounted on the radiator took about two...

    Radiator leak?

Has anyone used the advance auto car quest brand radiators?

    Radiator leak?

Thats exactly where it is coming from. I squeezed the top tube a few times and the fluid leaked out of that spot every time. Is this a common thing and can it be replaced or is this a new radiator situation?

    Radiator leak?

My radiator has been spitting fluid recently. It has been extremely hot in SE NC and seems to happen on days i dont even use it. I recently did the trans cooler, so thought it was leaking from the bottom where i disconnected the trans hoses and avoided a pink milkshake. However the hoses are...

    Rear heater bypass and removal.

Thanks, got it all figured out. Just used the existing hose to make a circuit between out and in and just left the lines open because they now lead nowhere. removed the heater from under the seat entirely, so now probably will use the mounting holes to put in a first aid kit case or general...
