Thank you! Found it. That was (what I thought) was the very last thing i needed to figure out before i put fluids in and started her up. I purchased a performance engine (block, head, timing) and then replaced most of the other parts, plus resurfaced intake, etc. Also replaced my leaky power...

So, I think I have everything but one plug figured out and got the life of me I can't seem to find what it is or where it goes! I'm thinking maybe it goes to something I don't have and that's why it's dirty? The one I can't figure it out is the top oval shaped one in this pic. But if anyone...

One last thing - the truck was wired by Uhaul for trailer brakes and lights. I towed with it 1,800 miles over two days a year ago, then a few very short runs, but had recently used it to tow 500 miles soon before this happened. The manual does warn against direct wiring (as Uhaul did). And...

Get it, bright ideas.....

This started when driving at night. I flipped and my brights and got..... Nothing. All headlights out (still running lights). Then, my a few minutes later my stereo reset, my battery, ABS, and airbag lights came on. At this point I'm in the middle of nowhere so I figure if my alternator is toast...

I'm working on figuring this out now. I won't have answers on the wiring for the heat until I have the switches that purchased on eBay over the weekend. I bought some from a Mazda (same ones that controls the seats). They are rectangular and will fit right in the empt slots above the stereo.

Actually very very close to stock. I cut the old brackets off, removed the ones from the new seats (bolts, etc) and then welded the old brackets to the new rails. I think I might be sitting a half an inch higher but that's probably because these seats aren't 30 years old....

Well, that's discouraging, but better to know now. Thanks so much for the info. I guess if I can't figure it out I'll still have new leather seats wth a cool rotary cut out.

working on new seats Heated and leather - install pretty straight forward, but a bit apprehensive about the wiring. Hopefully it goes okay....

Picked these up a couple weeks ago. Have the passenger ready to bolt in and will get the driver's tomorrow. Was not that hard. I will add to the thread with details. What I'm not sure about is wiring up the heat and power (passenger is mechanical). Any help greatly appreciated.
