I had a similar problem last winter and it was the dammest thing. The only way to UNLOCK was to put the car in Reverse, move a little and then popping it in Drive right away. Turned out I had a an axle seal leak and the cold weather would turn the fluid into a glue like substance and LOCK my...
I just ordered the Raptor HID Kit, 35W, H4 High / Low, 4500K for my '98. Stock lights are so bad. Did you order the HID Harness? I called and the gentleman said it was to prevent flickering and some vehicles need it. I ordered without it. I saw the pictures on another thread and they are bright...

Not sure what's going on but if I brake hard and come to a stop then for 3-6 seconds my truck (98 4Runner 4x4 v6) goes into neutral....
I can rev the engine and it just acts like its in Neutral and then seconds later it catches first gear.
I did a complete transmission flush at around 100k now...
So turns out that Tire Rama (they are in Montana and Wyoming) has the Hunter GSP9700 and also the Haweka Flange Plate adapter. I just spoke with a friend with knows someone there that can get me some sort of a discount. They mainly endorse Cooper tires but also carry BFG's, and Yokohama's....not...

So is it worth sizing up? I've got a 1998 4wd and I just moved to Montana and looking to buy new tires within the month. What would be better for snow and ice? 70's or 75's?
I use my vehicle mainly for street driving and some off roading when I go snowboarding and hiking in the woods....
YES! I got it done, in 4 hours!!
Actually i didn't have the right tools and I didn't know where the contacts were so it took me longer. I had to go borrow tools, and buy some new ones. I think I could do it again in less then an hour next time. It took me 25 minutes to put everything back...
"I unbolted the starter and all the wires with the tire off. Once everything was done, there are 2 bolts that hold it together. unbolted them, the starter was now in 2 pieces and it will come out past the frame into the wheel well. broke the new in the same place inserted the two pieces rebolted...
How long did it take to remove and install back in? I need to change out the contacts in it. I'm thinking about paying a mechanic to do it if it's not a straight forward job. I think I have my hanes manual somewhere....
I actually went by there yesterday and they tried to sell me on most of what's listed.
The thing is that it was mostly inspection, like INSPECT WIPER BLADES. I mean, COME ON! Inpect WIPER BLADES? Anyhow, they were charging me alot so I said forget it and decided to come here to see what i...
I just got my oil changed, drive belts changed, new tires, recently got my front brakes done and also my rear brakes.
They all needed attention so I got them done.
Any prevention maintenance I need to do at this point?
I might need a tune up that I can think of.
Cheers
