Billings Montana here. I've only found another person that has a FJ Cruiser and uses it for more then just buying milk and cookies.

im from billings too!
im looking forward to meet a fellow T4R.org member...
is there any body else here?

I was wondering the same thing. I actually moved from Billings to Belgrade MT. Let me know if you all want to go exploring. I know of a great trail ride south of Big Timber. Its a bit of a rough road but I have been there twice with my stock 1996 4runner.

I do have one on my rig on my rear wind deflector just under the hole for the rear brake light. I also have T4R for my personalized licence plate because I thought it would be cool and also easy to remember.

sorry i dont have the time to you now guys... i will be leaving this 2nd week of january for basic training in the army national guard. maybe after the training we could go wheel thru challenging terrains.... i'll be done by august & i will explore some places to look for an elk for this year's hunting season..

The road up West Rosebud headed to the trail head to Mystic Lake in the Absorakee area is nice light offroading. I used to live in Billings but I'm in Oregon now.

Resurrection of thread. I'm in Billings. Hoping to meet some locals. Don't know any trails around here. Did a bunch of wheeling while in Colorado years back. Too much work, not enough play.

hi jay...
i know some trail up going to HAYMAKER WMA. i was there about 3 years ago looking for a place to hunt. it up north about 2 hours from billings. light to mederate trail.

Missoula here, just bought my first 4runner, a 91 with a 3.slow. workin out some kinks with the power steering and a bad injector but other than those i like the rig. hoping to get it out on the trails within a couple months.

This is my first post. I live in Billings and found out about this website from a maroon 4runner that lives in the same apartment complex. I plan on finally getting into some light mods for my 4runner.

This is a depressing thread, only a handful of posts in 7 plus years. Is there anyone from Montana that is still active on here?

Well might as well bump this thread to see if anyone is still around.

I'll be picking up an 03 Runner this thursday down in Idaho.

Had a 97 tacoma before, then an audi a3, so time to get back in a yota.

Its a sport, 4.0, lifted with front and rear shockworks, arb locker, and some other small goods.

You guys all pretty happy with your runners? I really wanted a 3rd gen but I think this will do well, more power and more space will be nice.

Im in butte if anyone is still around.

Woods Bay (south of Bigfork) - just stumbled on this thread - didn't know it existed (guess it barely does). Hope my fellow Montanans are well.

I picked up a Red '14 SR5 4x4 Premium a couple of months ago and love it. Already put 4K miles on it, about half on dirt and gravel, but I don't know many trails other than lots of forest roads and local stuff - nothing very challenging. The wife and I have been out shooting photos - mostly wildlife - around the National Bison Range, Glacier NP, Hungry Horse Res., all over the Swan Valley, over Jocko Road and anywhere else that's out of cell range and not too far from home. We'll probably also be checking out Koocanusa and maybe Yak sometime soon to see the larches in color.

Anybody know of some good trails around these parts? Would really appreciate some pointers on fun rides - not too extreme because I'm running stock for now, but I do know how to drive it. Longer trips on our radar are the Pryor Mountains (have read about the trails and scenery), maybe Yellowstone (have to play around Beartooth region) and our favorite haunt - the desert in southern Utah (hiking slot canyons) - plenty of great, remote rides down there! You all know the snow is coming soon so, while that's fun too, anything up high get closed or dicey. I'm looking for things to do next spring.

Thanks and Keep Runnin' - Brian In Montana
