Did you leave the original radio in surround mode or normal mode when uninstalling? Does it make a difference?

I've done lots of searches but haven't found a definitive answer. Can you retain the JBL surround sound and center speaker functions with an aftermarket head unit? I know I'll need the PAC TATO adapter, but will that still create the surround sound effect with all the speakers? I actually prefer...

These aren't carpet. They are a plastic mold that is very thin I think I read 1/16 inch thick...supposed to fit super snug.

I do general maintenance on my vehicles like oil changes, spark plugs, etc, but I'm no mechanic. I would not trust my eye and knowledge. I called Toyota of Lewisville and they said they would do it for free.

So after a couple broken clips and one remaining mysterious screw, this is not the way to fix the problem. Larry, do you remember what the amp wire looked like? I had my cd player installed and didn't want to take apart the dash, but guess I will have too.
